| We are proud to show you new pictures from the ongoing work on the SEKUCo campus. This article will concentrate on equipment and surrounding facilities.

We have started to prepare furniture in time so as to ensure good quality of workmanship. NED members and people of different ages from partners inside and outside Tanzania have contributed to the production costs – children, students, elderly people, etc. Desks and chairs are currently being completed, using metal bars and wooden tops, shelves, seats and backs.
|
 |
...and 200 chairs will be used by the first 200
students.
|
| The library is furnished with comfortable chairs and the tables are made of cider and cypress timber. Shelves are made of cypress only. |
 |
 |
The ICT lab looks like this today |
| Student beds (decks) are being made. 100 will be made before October 2007. |

A new water source has been identified at Kibohelo, 4 km north of Campus A. This will serve the population of SEKUCo in addition to the two already existing water sources. The District of Lushoto in cooperation with the Ministry of Water is planning to construct a new storage tank within the area that belongs to SEKUCo. The capacity of this tank will be 135,000 litres and will serve the university college community as well as nearby villagers.
|
| The storage tank has already been fenced |
 |
The main sewerage system of Campus A is strong and intact. The internal sewerage system is being constructed alongside with the renovation of buildings such as WCs and inspection chambers that lead to main sewer facilities.
|
On communication and energy
- Telephone: There are landline connections at Campus B. The TTCL will be the main providers of telephone networks.
- Electricity: The Manager of TANESCO in Lushoto District is well informed about the
plans to open SEKUCo. Application forms have been filled in and
submitted to TANESCO. As a
start the company will install a transformer of KVA 100 at Campus
A.
- Solar energy and generator: Magamba has a high altitude and during the months of June and July
temperatures sink to 10 Degrees Celsius or below. A heating system will
therefore be necessary. We are working hard to find donors who can
provide us with solar panels.
At the moment we have a stand-by generator which has the capacity of supplying electricity to Campus A.
