With this letter, I wish to convey to you many greetings from members of the North Eastern Diocese of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania!

THE VISION STATEMENT OF
SEBASTIAN KOLOWA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF
TUMAINI UNIVERSITY
Our vision is to be a leading African institution of
higher learning that…
…fully recognizes and actively professes the human value and dignity of all society members, including people with disabilities, and whereby everyone is able to learn and live in harmony with God, fellow human beings and the creation.
|
| The hard work of preparing Sebastian Kolowa University College of Tumaini University (SEKUCo) goes on and it is gaining momentum for every day. I hereby send you an updated summary of the preparations. |
At this time we are concentrating our heads, hearts and hands in mobilising all resources we have to complete the necessary preparations at Campus A. The plan is to start with 200 students for the first intake. With Campus A completely renovated, 110 students will be able to stay at the student hostels. Arrangements are being made with house-owners at Magamba and Lushoto to provide off-campus accommodation for the remaining 90 students.
|
We plan to open SEKUCo in mid-October. The Dedication Worship Service is planned to be held on 28th of October 2007.
|
|
| In April 2007, we intend to begin renovating Campus B. However, this is
totally dependent on whether we succeed to collect adequate funds for
that work. As far as infrastructure is concerned, this summary deals
with Campus A only. |
|
| The programs which we are prepared to start with are Bachelor of
Special Needs Education and Bachelor of Law, where the former has first
priority. If it happens that we get 200 students for the Bachelor of
Special Needs Education program then we will not receive Law students
this year. |
|
| A separate article will give an overview on Infrastructure, Education facilities,
Staff Establishment, Governance, Accreditation and Cooperation with
Mission organisations, Churches and universities. |
|
Sincerely yours,
Rev. Dr. Anneth Munga.
Ag. Provost, Sebastian Kolowa University College of Tumaini University. |
