Our earnest wish is to open Sebastian Kolowa University College in September 2007.
We rejoice in God as we observe how people from within and outside the
NED put together whatever they have for the sake of supporting the
efforts of preparing the University College. |

| On
Saturday 8th of July, 2006, more than Tshs, 20,200,000/= were raised in
a fundraising event held in the small town of Lushoto. The fundraising
event was held in order to raise money for Sebastian Kolowa University College of Tumaini University. Different items were auctioned in order to gather funds for the on-going preparations of the University College. Pupils at Irente School for the Blind had weaved these colourful doormats which were sold for around Tshs. 150,000/=. |

Renovation is going on at Campus A. This is the site plan of the campus.

Our aim is to start with 200 students so that we may be able to run the University College smoothly.
Less
than half of the Tshs. 20,200,000/= raised on 8th of July will be used
in preparing classroom furniture for those 200 students whereby 200
chairs will cost Tshs. 4,000,000/= (Tshs. 20,000/= per chair) and 200
class tables will cost Tshs. 6,000,000/= (Tshs. 30,000/= per table),
leading to a total of Tshs. 10,000,000/=.
However,
only Tshs. 9,210,000/= will be taken from the funds raised on Saturday
since Tshs. 790,000/= had already been donated beforehand for this
purpose by the children at Vacation Bible School, US, and the students
who graduated this summer from CJD Christophorus-Schule Versmold,
Germany.

 |
 |
In accordance with the wish of the donor, Tshs. 800,000/= of the remaining funds will be used to purchase one piece of Braille machine for blind students who join SEKUCo. |
This picture shows a newly built Administration and Classroom block at Magamba Secondary School. The school was constructed from 1962 to 1965. One of the Headmasters who were responsible for the construction was Mr. Paul Gustafson from USA.
A bit more than 40 years later, Paul Gustafson's son, Brian Gustafson,
participated in a fundraising event in Lushoto. Arriving three hours
before the event, Brian brought several pictures from the first years
of Magamba Secondary School. We managed to find frames for two of them
and they were auctioned during that evening. The guest of hounour, Hon.
Yusuph Makamba bought this one - and gave it to the Acting Provost of SEKUCo.
In a very special way, history catches up with us and brings us a lot of blessings! |
