The Micro Enterprise and Crafts Promotion Program (MECPP) has resumed back to normal after staying out of action for three years.
Founded in 1996 the project, funded by the Bread for the World (BftW), finds its third phase with transformation into a more business-oriented Micro-enterprise Promotion Program (MEPP).
The petty artisans based promotional project formerly attached to Usambara Technology Centre (UTC) focuses on increasing employment opportunities and income improvement to the small entrepreneurs in the West Usambara mountains. The West Usambaras span the administrative Lushoto district.
The new Program Coordinator is Mr. Geoffrey Akile, the former Diocesan Acting General Secretary while the financial matters are handled by Mr. Daniel Jangandu. The other program personnel remain in their previous positions.
However the projects head quarter has moved from formerly Magamba area to Lushoto town (sharing the same building with the ELCT NED Bookshop).
