| Today, on 1st of July 2006, Magamba Secondary School was physically handed over to the ELCT, North Eastern Diocese. It has been a day of joy and blessings in many ways and we are bringing a few photos from the event! | Mohammed Abdul-Aziz | Bishop Munga welcoming the Regional Commissioner of Tanga Region, Hon. Mohammed Abdul-Aziz as he arrived at Magamba Secondary School. Hon. Abdul-Aziz was arriving from Dodoma where he has been attending the on-going Parliament session. He left Dodoma at 04.00 a.m. and arrived at Magamba just before noon with the intention to take part in this historic event. |
| | Three choirs took part in the handing-over ceremony. One of them was this trumpet choir from Hengiti congregation. In some years to come, these boys and girls may come back to Magamba - as students of Sebastian Kolowa University College of Tumaini University! | | The Deputy Director of Secondary Education from the Ministry of Education represented the Government of Tanzania at the handing-over ceremony. Among other things he said: Your intention to focus on the area of Special Service to Needy groups in our society was a primary reason behind the Government's decision to give back Magamba Secondary School to the Diocese. The Government of Tanzania has high expectations on the Diocese. We believe that you are going to do what you have promised to do. | This photo has been taken from a session of the meeting of Pastors and their spouses in our diocese which was held last week. A standing prayer topic was the ELCT General Assembly and the election of a new presiding bishop. As you can see on the photo, many of the meeting participants were wearing prayer stoles made and sent by our partners in the US!!! | | | The kids on the photo are standing in front of a wall of bricks that the children at Vacation Bible School built two weeks ago. Each brick represents one dollar which will go to SEKUCo. They raised approximately $200 in one week! Bit by bit, SEKUCo will be built! | | CJD Christophorus-Schule Versmold it is a protestant school and the only High School in the small town of Versmold. 90 students who graduated some weeks ago collected 386,39 EUR in their School Leaving Service (563.847 TSH) for SEKUCo! A young girl announced the collection, told about the project and said: Now leaving school after 13 years of good education we got the best chances to become useful members of our society. Please help the NED of the Lutheran Church of Tanzania to give a chance to young people in their own country. It's an investment in future and the best way to fight poverty. | |
