The NED community is getting excited with expectations as the 8th August 2004, the inauguration day for the Bishop’s Fund for Education and Development (BIFED) draws near.

In his invitation letter to friends and stakeholders earlier, the head of ELCT - NED, Bishop Dr. Stephen Munga explains: …BIFED is an instrument in NED’s work to provide Social Services to Tanzanians. It is a means of addressing the needs of the people and thus a step forward in promoting our institutionalised and non-institutionalised Social Services to the society. The needs within the society are increasing and are taking different faces. Part of our mission is to provide services to the needy and by so doing, we act as co-creators of God in bringing new life and hope to people.

The inauguration ceremony will be hounoured by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, His Excellency Benjamin W. Mkapa, who due to unavoidable reasons, will be represented by the First Lady, Mama Anna Mkapa.
