| The previous Synod Assembly of the NEDÂ held in 2007 ordered a release of about Tshs.54m/= fifty four million from the BIFED (Bishop's Fund For Education and Development) to support phase II Renovation of the University College (SEKUCo). This amount together with other internal sources advanced a total amount of about Tshs.111m/= (one hundred and eleven million) for the renovation of Campus B and other support.

This is the second time for BIFED to support the University College. The Bishop of the NED when talking to the big gathering at Makorora Parish in Tanga last Sunday among other things, he raised the BIFED for its contributions to the development of the Diocese and society at large. Apart from the kind of support as mentioned above the fund is supporting other Institutions like the Rainbow School and offering scholarships to a number of young people. The main contributors of BIFED are the NED and her partner Saint Hans Parish in Lund, Sweden. The NED thanks Saint Hans Parish for the contributions and commitment. Together we make BIFED a spring of development for our young people.
