The North Eastern Diocese (NED) has signed a partnership contract with the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) as a way of opening doors for closer cooperation.
The contract focuses specifically on poverty reduction strategies wherefore the NED submitted a project related to poultry farming of local chicks. A number of villages within the geographical area of the diocese have already been prepared to host the project. The response from local people is very positive and the expectations are very high. This shows that people are now determined to fight the most horrible social enemy namely poverty. Surely the task of training and preparing people for this project is of great importance so that they may understand the path they are walking through towards the goal of reducing poverty. Together with the said project the NED and the NCA will also cooperate on issues related to lobbing and advocacy especially on issues related to peace and justice.
