The changes in effect focus on the genuine reasons including:
|
|
1. Shortage of pastors: Due to the expansion of our mission work, NED needs 30 additional pastors to enable pastors serve cost effectively.
|
|
2. Scholarship: Few pastors have been awarded scholarships at MUCO and
abroad at BD, Mth and PhD levels. Consequently District Pastors who have
been appointed by the Executive Council will serve the position for two
years just to complete the term of those going for studies according to our
constitution. However they can be reappointed after this term of two years.
The Executive Council therefore apologies to you partners, as it recognizes
the problem you face in planning with new District and parish pastors in
the partnership programmes. But we also send to you a call to assist our
Diocese in educating a good number of pastors who will serve the church of
God. This assistance should focus on the diocesan needs at large through
partnership groups as some of the partners did previously and continue to do
now. We are obliged to extend our great appreciation and thanks too!!
