| For some time now the director of the university project has been writing in her messages "If we get Magamba back...".
We thank God to inform you that the Government of Tanzania has handled
back the school to the NED. This is good new to the NED and her
friends. Thanks be to God!! |
 |
| Magamba
Secondary School was built by the NED in the 1960s. It was one of
the best few Secondary Schools at that time. It was later taken
by the Government during the nationalization period. |

|
| Thereafter
no one ever thought that it will come back and be under the ownership
of the church again. In 2002 came up the idea of the NED opening
a university college under Tumaini University. It was that idea
which triggered up the demand for the right place for the
university. The NED own 390 acres of land at Magamba area in
Lushoto. It is within that land that Magamba Secondary School was
built. That being the case and by knowing that the need for more
institutions of higher learning in Tanzania is of interest to both the
Government and the Society at large, the idea of requesting for the
handling back of the School to the NED would be agood solution. |
| An application was sent to the Minister of Education and Culture.
The process and time of waiting was long. On the other hand that
time of waiting was time for prayers. We are thankful to God who
held us throughout that time. We are thankful to the Government
of Tanzania forthe wise decision they have taken. |
Finally,
we are now in a position of promising our friends that the project for
the university has moved a major step ahead. We will be informing
you about the development and future plans of this project.
|
| Join us in prayers and giving thanks to God! |
