| In the year 2001 the NED
Executive Council endorsed a document on Restructuring program as a
complementary concept on the EEPRO 2000 Program initiated by the ELCT/LMC. The
basis of the concept of Restructuring Program is self critique and self
evaluation. Therein some of the key issued were mentioned as problems to the
development of the NED. The leadership of the NED has been working by focusing
on those problems and how to tackle them. Much has been done in addressing
those key issues but of course new problems are always popping up. |
| Among other objectives
raised under the Restructuring Program was to develop a realistic master plan
for the NED. |
| On 24th February 2005 the NED convened
a meeting for all key persons in the process of planning. All sectors that are important
in the planning process were invited. Despite shortage of finance we were able
to convene this meeting and put down the guidelines of the planning. After that
work all participants went back with a clear message on how to start with
initial planning. The follow-up process has been delayed by lack of finances
although the contact is still there - thanks to the mobile phones network. |
Therefore the NED is at
the middle of a planning process expected to be completed at the end of this
year. The aim of this whole process is to come to a point whereby the strategic
plans of all the congregations, Districts, Institutions, Departments, Centers,
etc will be reflected in this master plan. The plans are expected to cover a period
of five years. Thus from these long-term plans there will be a possibility of
developing short-term plans. So far much has been done and some of the
congregations districts and institutions are through with their first drafts.

| According to the schedule
there will be another 5 days meeting in November 2005 for scrutinizing and
compiling the plans. Our hope is that in that meeting we will involve few
experts from within and outside the NED. Plans are underway to request for
funds preferably from the UEM or anywhere else we can get fund related to the
EEPRO program. Upon the completion of those plans the final version will appear
in our website. We pray that God may guide us towards the fulfillment of this
great goal. We ask all friends of the NED to support us with prayers,
suggestions and any other means that will enable us to make the NED master-plan
a reality. |
