The Pastors of the NED started their meeting on Tuesday 28th 06-2005 in Lushoto town. The venue for this meeting is in the Cathedral. The pastors started to arrive in this beautiful town on Monday 27-06-2005. This is an ordinary meeting normally used as an opportunity for continued learning. The pastors of the NED meet two times year- in June and the week that follows the First Advent each year.

Therefore, our pastors are here again for their week of learning. This time the learning week will be concluded by the ordination of two Theologians to the Priestly office. The two candidates for ordination are John Mnkama and Isai M. Mweta.

Looking briefly at the timetable of this learning week we notice that there are three main subjects in focus. These three subjects are:

  1. Uamsho (revivalism) and its impact on the church

  2. Stewardship and

  3. Leadership.

Apart from those main topics there are informative topics like information on the reopening of Vuga Bible School for the training of Deacons and Evangelists. Also seen from this category is information on SACCOS, Land and property ownership. Another category in information is on the final version of two documents for the teaching ministry of the Church. The two manuscripts to be presented are on confirmation classes teaching material and a teaching document on stewardship. This time again there is an opportunity for the pastors to convene as council for the sake of discussing pastoral work within the Diocese. We pray that this week be a blessing to our pastors. We expect that from this meeting they will gain new strength for furthering the work of God. May this meeting be a source of blessing for the NED and for the glory of God.
