14th August 2007 was a colourful day, that people of Songe and Kilindi District never will forget. Bishop Munga and his delegate came to the place to officiate the start of construction. Before he went to the construction site the Bishop was received by a multitude of people waiting him, led by the Kilindi District Commissioner Ms. Sara Dumba and Former District Commissioner Mr. Ligubi who is also Handeni District commissioner. On his arrival close to the open market place he told the people that he wants to see people living in peace and harmony. Doing by action he hereby invited District sheikh to sit where he was sitting.

 Bishop Munga digs first hole

| It was 1.00 pm when the Bishop dug the first point of the foundation at the
construction site, witnessed by thousands of people lead by two District
commissioners, the assistant to Bishop, Dean Mwamboza, pastors and people of
Kilindi district. In his speech during this inauguration the Bishop reminded
the Kilindi District people as church we do inauguration by the word of God
who is our creator while other may do something of which they trust but
because we do trust God we start by asking guidance of God. Also,
stressing that the hospital will be for all people regardless of their
background. The ceremony ended by the promise of Kilindi people to
commit themselves working hand by hand with the church during
construction of the Hospital. |
