When one consider the number of women who came for maternity it is important to take into account the number of those who attended antenatal clinic. From the MCH services 3909 women attended antenatal clinic over the year but only 288 came to deliver in the hospital, this represents 7% only.
Of those who delivered at the hospital 138 had normal delivery and 57 had caesarian section. In this year twin and triplet deliveries were 14 and 1 respectively. There were 3 maternal deaths over the year. The leading complications were PPH and retained placenta.
