Laboratory is another very busy area of the hospital since it attends not only patients but also relatives of patients like those who donate blood. 4539 investigations for malaria were performed of which 3941 were found be positive. A total of 731 individuals were for one or the other reason investigated for HIV and 131 of them were found to be positive. There were 57 widal tests done, of them 24 had significant titres. 928 stool analysis tests were conducted over the year.  

The hospital has no blood bank services, blood donation is done only under emergency circumstances which is rather a very primitive way of handling matters. Blood bank services are thus one of the very pressing needs of the hospital.
