Forest Reserves and Nature Reserves in the Usambaras

Mazuumbai Forest There are many forest reserves and one nature reserve in the Usambaras, which are under the control of the Department of Forestry and Beekeeping. A few names are Ndelemai, near Soni, Shagayu near Mtae, and Mkuzu near Magamba.

NED’s Institutional Evaluation Programme held

Standing is the NED General Secretary insisting certain point during his presentation NED has laid a foundation on which to develop its institutions to meet objectives through institutional management workshops and seminars. Among topics discussed is importance of institutional leadership vs. employee as well as attention paid to building a community through an effective communication strategy.

LWR Malaria Project Extends to Tanga Region through NED

Lutheran World Relief (LWR) and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) are working together to put faith into action in the fight against malaria. The project, entitled Faith in Action: Lutherans Partnering Against Malaria in Tanzania, focuses on increasing knowledge about malaria prevention and control, empowering health care providers to improve malaria prevention and control methods, and helping health care centers provide essential medication and services.

LWR’s partnership with the ELCT has been predominantly profitable to ELCT - North Eastern Diocese (NED) by the visit of the Bishop Jon Diefenthaler of Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, who is also a member of the board of Directors in LWR and president of the board accompanied by Brenda Meier and Tim Mc Cully, Vice president of LWR.

Pastors Meeting Held

North Eastern Diocese – ELCT conduct pastors meeting, which according to normal schedule are held in June for seminar and December for evaluationeach year held at Rainbow School were Schedule for meetings  determined by the Committee Chairperson. This years’ meeting was opened by Bishop Dr. Stephen Munga of NED, where in his opening speech he says I'm sure the people of any congregation could compile quite a list of expectations, but would it reflect what God desires from the leadership of his church?
