From 3rd to 8th March 2008 members of diocesan synod were gathered at Utondolo Lutheran Cathedral for its normal biannual meeting. Representative from all parishes and institutions of the diocese attended the meeting.
The diocesan leader Bishop Dr. S. Munga chaired the meeting. The theme of the meeting was about environmental care of the nature and commitment of diocesan members to environmental conservation. There were many guest speaker about the topic among those who were invited were Bishop Jacob Mameo, Bishop Job Bwilo, Bishop Baji of Tanga Catholic Diocese. Other guest were Rev. Dr. Kimaro from Mwika university college, Rev. Dr. Fidolin Mwombeki from United Evangelical Mission and Rev. Dr. Mooler from Westfalia, Germany. However, retired Bishop Joseph Jali and Retired Dean Amasia Mweta also attended the meeting. The meeting had different activities beside of receiving bishop report. It elected members of executive council of diocese, and elected district pastors. There were important decisions and resolutions made at this meeting. More information will come soon.
